Milana Vayntrub, a.k.a. That Girl from the AT&T Commercials, is joining Marvel Television and Freeform’s New Warriors, in a pretty perfect bit of casting: She’ll be playing Doreen Green, a.k.a. the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

The casting of Squirrel Girl has been a matter of debate among fans of the Marvel comic for quite some time, with everyone from Anna Kendrick to Stranger Things’ Shannon Purser put forward as potential choices. But just look at Vayntrub’s expression in the AT&T commercials that made her instantly recognizable, and tell us that’s not the face of Squirrel Girl:

Vayntrub has also had recent appearances on Other SpaceSilicon Valley, and This Is Us.

In addition to the casting of Squirrel Girl, The Hollywood Reporter also announced the rest of New Warriors’ cast:

  • Jeremy Tardy (Dear White People) as Dwayne Taylor, a.k.a. Night Thrasher
  • Calum Worthy (Austin & Ally) as Robbie Baldwin, a.k.a. Speedball
  • Matthew Moy (2 Broke Girls, where he starred opposite Darcy Lewis, otherwise known as Kat Dennings) as Zack Smith, a.k.a. Microbe
  • Kate Comer (The Comeback) as Deborah Fields, a.k.a. Debrii

“I am thrilled beyond belief to be working with this incredible group of actors,” said showrunner Kevin Biegel (Enlisted), himself a Squirrel Girl fan. “They are funny, sincere, eager, charming and perfectly embody these characters. It’ll be a blast and an honor to create this show with each of them.”

New Warriors doesn’t yet have a release date, though it’s expected to premiere sometime in 2018. Here’s the official summary:

New Warriors centers around six young people struggling to make a difference and learn how to harness their powers … Not quite super, not yet heroes, Marvel’s New Warriors is about that time in your life when you first enter adulthood and feel like you can do everything and nothing at once—except in this world, bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.
